Nikon is proud to announce our selection by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to spearhead the development of advanced metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology for space applications. JAXA has chosen Nikon as part of its open call for proposals under the Space Strategy Fund (SSF), specifically within the program titled ‘Innovative technology for lightweight, high-performance, and lower cost space transportation systems.’

Nikon’s mission is clear: to develop Japan’s first Additive Manufacturing system capable of producing large-scale, high-precision components for space structures and transportation systems. This includes critical applications such as rocket engine components, where precision, strength, and reliability are paramount.
