1. Basic Machine Training

This training provides the basic knowledge to operate your SLM® system. After completion, the participants will be able to operate and manage the SLM® system independently including preparation of all equipment through unpacking of the construction job, as well as the detection and execution of all necessary cleaning and operating routines.

Duration: 2-3 days
When: After machine installation
Who: Trained by SLM® Service technician
Where: In your facility, SLM® facility, or a location of your choice

2. Basic Maintenance Training
02

This training covers maintenance steps that go beyond the operator level. After completion, participants will be able to maintain recommended maintenance schedules and perform important mainenance routines on their SLM® systems. Participants will be able to independently and correctly maintain SLM® systems for up to four-month intervals. In addition, they will be able to identify and complete unscheduled wear and tear repair.

Duration: 2-3 days
When: 3 months after machine installation, and in conjunction with a maintenance visit (recommended)

Where: In your facility or SLM® facility

3. Basic Application Training
03

This module provides advanced user knowledge through theory and practice in the build data preparation with Magics to achieve and increase the desired build part quality, especially in the case of demanding component geometry. The participants are given an understanding of the influence of the main process parameters on the component properties and can transfer these insights and strategies independently to future parts and projects.

Duration: 2-3 days
When: 2-6 weeks after Basic Training is recommended

4. E-Learning

Nikon SLM Solutions offers a variety of post-sale learning opportunities including our e-learning platform. E-Learning allows users to enhance their knowledge of the process and our machines at their own pace. Users login, watch virtual training sessions and complete a quiz at the end of each session. Nikon SLM Solutions has experienced Field Service Engineers around the world ready to ensure your system stays up and running at peak performance. From troubleshooting and repairs to preventative maintenance visits and remote support, our service department offers help when you need it. Service contracts are available for systems coming out of warranty including preventative maintenance visits from our field service engineers, as well as support and upgrades with the option to include spare parts past your warranty. You can choose from Essential, Elite, Total, or Ultimate.
